Katherine So Dachtler
MSW, LCSW, LICSW, PhD(c) (She/Her)

Katherine is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, she earned her bachelor’s degree, diversity and inclusion certificate, and master of social work, and is currently a PhD candidate in the Change Leadership for Equity and Inclusion program at the University of Central Arkansas. She is a 2022 North Dakota Human Rights Coalition Arc of Justice Award recipient and 2023 Bush Foundation Fellow. She continues to serve her community in various volunteer capacities and enjoys cooking, traveling, and gardening in her spare time. She lives in Grand Forks with her husband, three children, and Cully.
Katherine’s approach is rooted in affirming, trauma-sensitive and holistic therapy that is built around each individual. She draws on EMDR, ACT, Trauma-Focused CBT, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction to find what works best for where you are.
Katherine specializes in adoption, identity, belonging, reunification, life transitions, affirming care, and trauma.
Cully
Alliance of Therapy Dogs Certified

Cully is a Shar-Pei/Boxer mix and a rescue dog who has been part of Katherine’s family since 2020. He loves walks, cuddling with his humans, and earning treats; though he’s less enthusiastic about green vegetables and getting wet. Cully has completed training and behavioral testing and is a certified therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD), registered as a working team with Katherine.
